What?
Yesterday a group within Turkish Military, tried to take over the country when President Erdogan was vacationing in the beach side.
They took over many strategic centers, paraded capitol Ankara with Tanks and Helicopters. Bombed the Parliament, and the Presidential palace. But the coup has been controlled by security forces today and many lives were lost in the process.
How?
As soon as the news of coup reached the President , he contacted the people of Turkey and assured them he was still incharge, he sent out mass text messages calling out the people in protest against the military. People answered his call and came out in large numbers.
Prime Minister Binali tweeted out yesterday that security forces were called out and were asked to do whats necessary to control the coup.
The police and security forced battled with the estranged military men and leaving 250 killed and many injured. Almost 3000 military men have been detained, the rebel helicopters have been shot down by jets.
And now
The President has returned back to the capital, but still fears further uprising will happen today, he has asked people to stay on the streets until the rebellion is controlled.
