Kashmir crisis worsens- an urgent review meeting planned

What?

The crisis in Kashmir has no signs of subsiding, with 30 already killed and 1300 injured including 200 security personnels, an urgent review meeting is said to be summoned, and it is going to be presided over by Prime Minister Modi.

How?

The uprising in Kashmir valley happened 4 days ago when Kashmir separatist group Hizbul's commander Burhan Wani was killed in a military sting operation.

Burhan Wani was an active social media activist, he was the poster boy for the Hizbul mujahedeen's separatist agendas, he took up arms when he was just 15, and since then has created himself a wide fan following in Kashmir with his social media posts and updates. He called upon all all Kashmirs to take up arms terming it as the "Islamist" thing to do.

Why?

Indian government is under huge pressure after his killing created a massive uproar, leading to rising anti Indian sentiments in Kashmir. Nearly 20,000 people showed up just for his funeral, this show of support had many compare him to the Indian revolutionary Bhagat Singh.

Many including the former Chief Minister of J&K, Omar Abdulla to the Jnu student Omar Khalid have condemned the military action on 21 year old Buhran Wani calling it inappropriate. Pakistan's Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have issued statements, terming incident as shocking. Nawaz's comments seemed like they were trying to escalate an already boiling issue, they were not taken kindly by the central government.

So various minsters have been called in for a special review meeting to discuss about the how the Indian government should handle the situation in Kashmir, as well as about how India should respond to Provocations by Pakistan.

 Who?

Home Minister Rajnath Singh has postponed his trip to the Indo-US homeland security summit to attended this meeting, apart from Rajnath and Modi, Finance minister Jaitley and Defense minister Parrikar are some of the others who will be present.

And so

Will this further strangle the relationship between India and Pakistan? , how will the Kashmir issue resolve?, can we trust the BJP ministry to come up with a solution to this dire problem that has been dangling over our heads for about 7 decades?, only time can tell.
