Theresa May takes over as the British Prime Minister

What? 

Theresa May takes over as the Prime minister of UK after David Cameron's resignation.

When? 

She assumed office after being elected as the head of the conservative party unopposed. She was nominated by the queen on 13 july.

How? 

Teresa May an MP of Maidenhead, is a liberal conservative, she is the longest serving home secretary after 60 years. She also served as the minister of Women's welfare under Cameron.

As soon as Cameron announced his resignation, May announced her candidacy for the leader of conservative party, she won with 199 MP's supporting her, the only opposition she had, Mrs. Andrea Leadsom, withdrew from the elections on July 11th.

Why? 

David Cameron announced his resignation after Britain voted to separate from the European Union.

And now

Theresa May know for her hard stance on drugs and immigration will be the second  woman Prime Minister of Britain after Margaret Thatcher.
