Ulta Chaata- conserve water and make electricity

It is estimated that water demand will exceed the supply by 2025 and in a country like India where population levels are rising rapidly water will become a big cause of concern even sooner, many new innovations have come up to tackle the crisis one of them is Ulta Chaata.

What?

Ulta Chaata is an "inverted umbrella" like structure that collects water like a bowl and transports it via a long vertical pipe (stalk) to the ground, where it can be collected to a portable tank.

The stalk has a filter systems that filters rain water to WHO approved levels, a single unit only takes up one sq feet of land on the ground and can collect up to
1,00,000L of water annually.

The unit also contains a solar panel that converts solar energy to electricity. It has a lighting unit, software for monitoring water levels and self cleans.

Who?

Priya Choksi and Samit Choksi are no ordinary couple, a former architect and a software engineer in USA respectively, these couple have several patents between them.

They together found a company in Mumbai that concentrates on producing clean and green technology. Started out with hardly any revenue, they just had a turn over of a crore in 2016, because of companies like Godredge giving their product their trust.

And so

Innovations like Ulta Chaata are futuristic ideas that actually gives back to our environment by conserving rain water, rather than destroying it. This products with some adjustments can be used to refill ground water and help in agriculture. It gives us a fresh way to tackle our water needs and energy demands.
