History of the Olympic games

The first Olympics games is believed to have started in 776 BC in Olympia, Greece.

It's is believed Hercules build the
"Olympic stadium" for Greek God Zeus, and created the tradition of playing the games once in 4 years. Ancient Olympics consisted of events like foot race, chariot race, Wrestling, boxing, javelin throw,
Horse back riding etc..

The winners of these games, were praised, worshiped and
immortalized via poems and books. Coroebus , a cook from the city of Elis, is the first know to be Olympic champion.

After Romans ended the Olympics in 426 AD, Baron Pierre de Coubertin wanted
To restore Olympics to its ancient glory, he formed an Olympic committee in 1890s, first Olympic games were held in 1896 in Athens,  Greece.

2016 Olympic games are going to occur in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, it will be the largest summer Olympics games ever conducted in the History of modern Olympics.
