Modi reshuffles cabinet again

Update- changes at cabinet level-

 Prakash Javadhekar has been given HRD ministry, Smithi Irani who previously held this post has been moved to textiles ministry. environment ministry has been gifted to Dr Harsh VardhanVenkaiah Naidu is given the additional responsibility of I and B minister, Vijay Goel is the new sports minister, Jayanth Sinha has be reshuffled to civil aviation. Ravi Shankar Prasad, has now been assigned Law ministry.
Ananth Kumar got the Parliamentary Affairs ministry. 


What?

Prime minister Narendhra Modi reshuffled his cabinet again but this is the first major cabinet shuffle since 2014. 19 new member were added into the cabinet, while 5 junior cabinet ministers resigned to make way for the new ministers, since the cabinet can hold only 82 members. This new cabinet has 78 member which is more than what the previous PM Manmohan Singh's cabinet strength.


When? 

It happened on June 5th. Modi had tea with them in the evening and urged them to start preparing for the parliament.

Where? 

The MP's were predominantly from the north, with 3 MPs each from states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, while there were 4 from Rajasthan.

Rajen Gohain: BJP Lok Sabha MP from Nawgong

Mahendra Nath Pandey: BJP Lok Sabha MP from Chandauli

CR Chaudhary:  BJP MP from Nagaur

PP Chaudhary: BJP MP from Pali

Ramdas Athawale: RPI Rajya Sabha MP from Maharashtra

Subhash Ramrao Bhamre: BJP Lok Sabha MP from Dhule

Minister of state for Environment Prakash Javadhekar has been elevated to Cabinet rank.

And so

It is said Amit Shaw role has been predominant in the reshuffle.
New portfolio's have been created to accommodate the large number of ministers. Though this like an election ploy, to carter to the voters for the upcoming UP elections, or is this shuffle targeted to help in improving the efficiency of governance we will have to wait and see.
